Description
A whole life in a suitcase – that's not how sparingly Ms. Colchica travels. She drags along about eighty large and small suitcases, all her possessions. Then a man crosses her path, absurdly traveling with at least as many suitcases, and in this chaos, he actually manages to grab one of Ms. Colchica's suitcases. Outrageous! After all, each of her pieces of luggage is neatly labeled with a name tag and contents label. An idea that the chaotic dreamer Mr. Papel would never have thought of. He would at most attach his handmade paper flowers to the suitcases. However, Ms. Colchica doesn't want to linger on discussions about that. She is in a hurry to finally arrive somewhere! "It's about the journey, not the rest. The quicker we get out of here, the better," she says. Mr. Papel thinks quite differently; not only is he convinced that he will eventually stumble upon his destination by chance, but he also doesn't want to go any further. He prefers to dine with the spirited Ms. Colchica at a beautifully set table.
"This meeting can also be read as a modern parable about those first moments of every great love: All that luggage that accumulates throughout life's journey, which one drags along on the way to somewhere, in search of someone. All the doubts, missed opportunities, and injustices that one dishes out and regrets. And yet, the magic that resides in all of it," wrote the Frankfurter Rundschau on the occasion of the German-language premiere in 2006.
"I just want to say something because. Afterwards, you will be gone, and then, of course, it's too late." Papel
