Crystals from Tyrol

When people think of crystals, many think of jewelry and gemstones. Crystals are much more than that. We use them in everyday life as sugar, salt, or ice. Mineral collectors search for naturally occurring crystals, the minerals. How do crystals form? Where can they be found?

The exhibition features large mineral specimens and tiny crystals from the geological collection of the Tyrolean state museums. The exhibits come from Tyrol, South Tyrol, and Trentino.

Embark on a journey from large, perfectly formed crystals to tiny ones that can only be seen under a microscope. Dive beneath the surface of rocks and minerals and discover what there is to see.
