Description

through the exhibition "money makes history"

Coins are not only means of payment and propaganda tools of emperors, but they also tell about many aspects of everyday life in Roman times. How were they designed and where were they minted? How many sestertii was an aureus worth? What do coins have to do with cult and death?

In the guided tour, the curator of the exhibition, Anton Höck, provides insights into the historical and economic development of the old Tyrolean region from the occupation in 15 BC based on Roman coins.
