Coins are not only a means of payment and a convenient propaganda tool in the hands of emperors, but they also narrate many aspects of daily life in Roman times. What was depicted on the coins and where were they minted? How many sesterces was an aureus worth? And what did the coins have to do with worship and death? During the guided tour, archaeologist Veronica Barbacovi, starting from the Roman coins on display, discusses the historical and economic development of the Roman region of Ancient Tyrol beginning with the Roman occupation in 15 B.C.
